On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a proven, evidence-based strategy under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that provides for reimbursements to businesses to help compensate for the costs associated with skills upgrading and loss of production for the training of newly hired employees. OJT funds provide reimbursements to businesses of up to 50 percent of the wage rate of OJT participants (in certain circumstances up to 75 percent) to help defray the personnel training costs of new employees.
